even this article has wrong information: 1. the bottom should be cleaned weekly, and -- most onerous of all -- the bottom doesn't need to be cleaned weekly. i don't think i've ever heard y'all say this Maybe they could do like my dad did once, he added a cup of bleach to an aquarium to kill the algae.... Then he asked me if I had any idea why his fish died. Dale |
Gary Allen's How to Build a Disaster
Does seem the H&G show & this article swing like politics, extreme right to
extreme left. Super easy or super difficult. the bottom doesn't need to be cleaned weekly. i don't think i've ever heard y'all say this Other than those of us to do it every nano second with a bottom drain connected to our filters. ;o) 2. and -- most onerous of all -- the whole thing needs to be drained and completely scrubbed once a year. draining and replacing the water might be a good idea, but not scrubbing it. Ditto, why do people who've never done it, get paid to write about it? Regarding the 12" koi... they surely for got to add, in a year or two time, such over sight. ;o) ~ jan See my ponds and filter design: http://users.owt.com/jjspond/ ~Keep 'em Wet!~ Tri-Cities WA Zone 7a To e-mail see website |
