A computer question rather than fish. How do I sign and verify my new

really increased since I started posting here.

Looks like you are posting through Google. I don't think you can munge
your addy there, you might try to find your profile and see if you can
change that.

I got this email account for this set of ng's solely as a spam and
virus trap. Just go to
www.hotmail.com and follow directions. They try
to bury the links so you get distracted by advertising, but you'll get
there. Eventually.

You can keep the Hotmail account "alive" by checking on it once a
month, or you could just drop it and let all spam and viruses bounce.

After you get the hotmail account, open a new account with Google.

Google is great for research, not so great for daily use as the posts
update erratically, maybe 4 or 5 times a day, maybe once a day.

I think you can set up several accounts with most news readers,
Mozilla for example. If you start checking several news groups, you
will eventually find a group you really want to read, but it might be
under attack by a vandal gang or have a resident jack-ass. In that
case, getting something like Nfilter is very handy.

There are a couple other places to download this program but I don't
have the URL's. www.nfilter.org is a dead link, so don't bother with it.

I can post some simple examples of the filter, if you like. It's a
simple text file with a ".dat" extension and can be changed with
notepad or wordpad. The filter can get really fancy, but I haven't had
to fool with that part yet.
