There is some disagreement about where the
beer should be applied... in the pond or in the ponder?

Never in the pond, as that would be alcohol abuse. In the ponder or on the
ponder depends on whether said ponder is wearing a t-shirt. ;)

I don't think there is any disagreement whatsoever. If you don't know where
it should be applied, you better not be near a pond! Now, if your question
meant while standing in the pond, well, that would be different.

I'm gonna go check it out.

Green water, murky water, clear water, got a pond or fish problem....?
CHECK YOUR WATER QUALITY! Sorry for yelling, I'm just a frustrated KHA
;o)

Green water means you have a water quality problem. You can get rid of the
green with a UV, but it won't fix the water quality, poor water quality
will equal sick fish over time. ~ jan

Not necessarily a problem for koi always... could just be higher
phosphates alone.

Perhaps, but people need to check to know it's not because the pH is out of
whack, the buffering(KH) is gone, the nitrate is overly high, and/or
ammonia & nitrite are in the toxic range. All those readings excellent,
then we go back to patience or, for the less patient, UV. ;o) ~ jan
