What kind of Pseudochromis did the damage?

I dont know what his real name is, but he's all Purple, he's a very pretty
fish, I'm just tired of paying for his expensive diet.He can eat brine
like
everyone else

So the one you have... The true purple pseudochromis is a little
*******. I had one also... Completely dominated the 55 I had it in.

As far as the orchid dottyback that you wanted... Look for the black
stripe on the eye. And the colored fins...

Why should I lokk for those features? Are those signs of health?

thanks for reply.....

Not signs of health; rather, distinguishing marks to help ensure you're
getting the correct fish. I've seen people buy the pseudochromis
instead of the dottyback because they look similar. And they get a
heck of a suprise in personality difference with these two fish. Best
of luck...

thanks again for your attention. Is the temperment of the Orchid Dottyback
suitable for keeping with real mellow fish, like a Rainford Goby?

Again, my personal experience was with the purple pseudochromis, but I
can tell you I've seen the orchid dottyback with mellow fish (gobies
and such) in the LFS and observed the tank for a while without the
dottyback showing agressive tendencies... I'm pretty sure it is
species aggressive but there were no conspecifics in that tank. It is
probably also defensive of it's territory so depending on tank size you
may be ok. I would say the gobies should be fine if they are already
established and there is plenty of space (judging by the 75 lbs of live
rock in your tank I would guess yes. But different fish in different
situations react differently. Anyone have personal experience???
Might I suggest a new post with orchid dottyback as the title?

I have a Fridmani and he's a real wimp! Scared stiff of the Scopas Tang, and
he' s never been aggressive in the two years I've had him.
Rather shy, hides when anyone is near the tank, but comes out in an instant
at feeding time.
I can recommend one anytime.
Cheers
Chris
