Absolutely correct. *However, often you will hear the "experts/gurus"
start the nitrogen cycle with ammonia, [ammonia - nitrites - nitrates.]

However, it is actually, [urea - ammonia - nitrites - nitrates.]
And, urea is actually 90-95% percent of the solids in urine. *So, it
gets a much more "natural" nitrogen cycle going in your tanks if you
begin with urea; as, micro-organisms/phytoplankton/algaes/etc. break the
molecular bonds of urea to ammonia in the first place; you need these
organisms also ...

I can't find pure ammonia either. You can ad some fish food like Shrimp
Pellets. I tried that in the past and it worked.

have encountered many in my life, I guess ... and unless I venture into
the "questionable" parts of the city here, I never encounter such vile
creatures ... perhaps we are fortunate to have "it"--"it" keeps us aware

Yep - yours is the first message that's gotten through my filters in
several days. And I won't see all the asinine responses this post will
trigger.

The only reason I keep checking this newsgroup is in case someone new
requests some help with something. And to see if the assholes are ever
