Skip the tinfoil barbs and please skip the plecos.. definitely not two of
them. I never see the benefits of plecos.. they might get rid of algae but
mine always poop these really long tirds that never disappear.

I'm partial to Oscars though. I'd just go with the four Oscars. The one
you have is probably good size so you'll have to make sure you buy big tank
mates.

I was re-thinking your choices for you. Sorry about that.. you just wanted
to know if all that would work in the tank.

You didn't mention the filtration you'll be using on this 120 gallon tank.

I really think you'd need a larger school than just three, but that's
just IMO. I've heard they can be fin nippers, but I haven't actually
seen any that were.

The main reason I think most ppl dont' like TFBs, are they are sparatic,
quick, and can make for, yes, an interesting tank, but on the other end of
the spectrum, most ppl, myself included, like to have a centerpeice fish,
like one big fish, or a school, and dithers... your TFBs and Oscars are
both good fish in their own rights, but rarely are they mixed, but
considering you have a 120g, you've got room... but remember, it's your
tank... and if it's your first, my bet is, you'll outgrow your fondness for
them in about 3 months or less.... just a guess.....

It will work fine as long as you get a 120 gal long tank. I am basing this
on the assumption that Oscars are bottom dwellers. I raise African, so am
not extremely knowledgeable on Oscars. 120 gallons is a nice size tank,
offering allot of territory. If they are bottom dwellers, a longer tank
provides more territory resulting in less fighting. If you have a tall tank,
you need to get fish that are not only compatible, but also with layered
territories. What I mean by this is: some top dwellers, mid to top dwellers,
and bottom dwellers. If you do it this way, you can take better advantage of
the territory. But remember, more fish mean more water changes. I have a
medium to large Frontosa, Tangerine Tiger, Red Empress, Nagara Flametail,
and a Jewel Cichlid in a 55 gallon tank. It works fine. They have plenty of
holey rock caves to go around and it works well. I do a 40% water change
once a week, and have double to needed filtration. My fish thrive under
these conditions.
