About that e-mail allegedly from Microsoft
For what it is worth (and to me, a lot), I wrote an e-mail to my server and
asked if there was some way they could put a stop to that particular type of e-mail. I was getting dozens of them every day. So, today I had only one and no spam at all. Can't believe it. Hope this helps someone else. Pixi |

My rotten emails are still coming in. They are stopped by
Earthlink's spamblocker... course I have it set so high that nothing gets thru. I go thru the list twice daily.... canceling and/or forwarding to my inbox! I'll be glad when there is No List at all - then I can go back to my usual setting. I am not complaining, but I was unable to clear it myself and my ISP said that they could or would not do it. |

Ken, who's the "infected" person? I've run my (automatically) updated virus
program 3 times and still get the "updates" and notifications that mail I supposedly sent is being returned. Nedra and I are in the same class: I have to check the server to "clear" stuff several times a day, and that's the pits because this is a "business" machine. Lee "KenCo" wrote in message ... Ken,
Does the "infected person" include anyone who is getting the emails now? IOWs, should I refrain from answering any and all personal emails? There is a freebie program called MAILWASHER. It does great things
with this problem. You set a list of "friendly" and it lets them in. Then when you get mail you can look at the sender and subject and choose DELETE BOUNCE BLACKLIST. If it one of the MS MAILS you choose DELETE BOUNCE AND BLACKLIST. It will delete the mail, put the sender's e-mail address in a BLACKLIST list and then send (bounce) the mail back to the sender saying that YOUR e-mail add is no good and that will possibly remove your address from further bad mail. IF it doesn't then the next mail from them is automatically checked DELETE BOUNCE as it has already been blacklisted. My mail dropped from 200 plus daily to maybe 5 or 6 now. Also Norton jumps up and grabs the one with the malicious attachment. dd On 9 Oct 2003 07:55:12 -0500, "Lee Brouillet" wrote: Ken, who's the "infected" person? The "infected" person is not necessarily the person who allegedly sent you
the Email. The virus not only sends itself to everybody in the infected person's address book, it also appends random names from that address book as the "sender". That is why you get all the messages that "bounced" from somebody else's mailbox. "Lee Brouillet" wrote in message ... Ken, who's the "infected" person?
