How often should you feed the Fish

The header says it all; Should it be once a day; everyother day? How often
should you feed the fish?
This is a simple question that doesn't require BS going back and forth like
some of the other posts. No Trolls or Troll bashing please

To some extent, it depends on the fish. Carnivores can handle being fed
erratically, but every two days is a good schedule. Larger (upwards of 3")
omnivores can easily handle being fed once a day. Morning is best, since that
gives them all day to "graze" on the leftovers. Small fish prefer two or three
feedings a day. One can usually set up some arrangement which allows vegetarian
fish to eat all day.

At present, the piscine population of my tank consists of small omnivores. They
get fed twice a day; occasionally thrice.

If you torture the data long enough, eventually it will confess
to anything.

yep, it depends on the fish, but for most fish, once
a day is standard. They will also graze on live food
in the reef through the day.

Well, you're sure going to get a lot of back and forth and different answers on this. I know the way I've always done it is in the
total mibority but - I feed every other day only. I feed Taetramin Tropical Flakes - yes tropical - and then I wait 2 days and feed
Frozen cubes of Reef Variety. I know this is not the norm, but it's always worked for me. All my tanks are skimmerless, so I am very
careful of how much I feed. And most of my fish - gs clown, pseudo, lemonepeel, damsels, blennie, hawk - are all old - some going on
9 years.

My fish are living well. They get small amounts 3 time/day. No more
then what will disappear in 2 minutes.

I say 3 times a day.
Your question is so devoid of data as to be almost useless.
3 small feeds a day at least is best
but 1 feed a day works for most people
fish are tough
but grazers eat non stop
predators can go ages
my eels got food once or twice a week
but thats different to a grazing tang
little fish need more frequent and bigger fish can go for longer

Yea but I think he was asking how often the fish get
the seaweed, not how often you have it :-)

Yea most people ad it about once a day, and give
enough for the fish to graze on through the day.

I'm obviously doing something wrong here with the seaweed; I'm just not sure
what it is.
I'm using Julian Springs Sea Veggies (green seaweed) They come in sheets
that have lines on it from top to bottom. In the morning I break off a strip
and place it on a clip and put said clip into the tank. Within minutes the
strip I broke off is gone either eaten away by the grazers or free floating
because one of the fish tore at it and ripped the area attached to the clip.
I wind up adding more to the clip several times through out the day. My
question is; what am I doing wrong here?
Thanks

I use a rubber band to hold nori on a polished oyster shell. I hung the
oyster shell about halfway up the tank with some fishing line and
another rubber band. It makes it harder for the Tang to just wolf down
or rip off a bunch of nori. Instead of 10 minutes, the Nori usually
lasts about 6 hours. I replenish whenever I see it empty which is about
twice a day.

I also learned to cut the nori into 4" by 1/2" strips. It seems to work
better. It only takes me a minute with a scissors.
