DO cars last longer parked in a garage/

I am wanting to get a newer vehicle and currently I have to park
outside. DO cars last longer when parked inside? I am thinking of
building a cheap pole barn just to park in.

I would think it would be better for the car but maybe there is not
alot of difference?

parked inside a garage, certainly keeps the paint looking nice!

Yes garage is better as long as it is well-ventilated. If it is a
moisture trap it will just accelerate rust. If you have a decent air
exchange in there the car will get a chance to dry out more quickly
and won't rust as fast.

I like a garage so when I have to work on a car in the Winter I can
turn on the torpedo heater, overhead lights, and have some shelter
from the elements.

Depends where you are. A carport or garage that keeps sun off the car
is better for your paint job and helps keep the sun from overheating
the interior. If you live where there is salt on the roads in winter
on the other hand, parking in a heated garage such as one finds in
office buildings is murder on bodywork. An unheated garage or your
pole barn is OK.

Have you ever seen an outdoor museum? ;)

Seriously, the sun is horrible for interiors and rubber. Also the car is
more exposed to damage from trees (branches, acorns etc), weather (hail,
ice), animals, vandals and thieves outside.

Plus it's much nicer to get in a nice cool car in the summer or a snow and
frost free car in the winter. Definitely worth it for that alone in my
opinion.

"Lasting longer" is an ambiguous term.
Parking outside will burn off the paint, harden, crack, and
discolor all the inside and outside plastic, the UV will prematurely
age the tires, and the sandstorms will etch the windows.
Scorpions will get up into the seats.
However, your car should last about the long as parking inside.
It won't look as nice though.
