pilot feels like it stalls

Hello,

A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a 2003 Pilot for my wife. She
says that sometimes, while under way, the thing feels like it wants to
stall. Does anyone have any idea what that could be? Thanks

Could be anything from bad gas to dirty spark plugs... I had a hesitation
problem when accelerating a few months back and changing the spark plugs did
the trick. If you do this yourself, make sure you coat the threads with an
anti-sieze compound to prevent "fusing" with the aluminum head.

This Pilot looks brand new. It has super clean oil. I is certified. The
gas has been filled a few times now. 93 octane.

One more thing...it's not happening on acceleration...it happens just
motoring along.

Clean your throttle body. It's always a good idea. The can of cleaner is
only 3-5$. If it solved the problem, great, if it doesn't, at least you will
have a clean throttle body :)

Always mention your MILEAGE. Try a full tank of Gasohol in the Pilot. It
may just be a bit of water in the tank.

Unless I'm remembering incorrectly, the 2003 Pilot uses regular gas, 87
octane. Using 93 octane wastes your money, and could cause some issues
with buildup in the cylinders.

We have an 03 Pilot and have had no problems running regular, which is what
it requires. Even though it is certified, you don't know the service
history -- which is important if the maintenance has been done as required.
I would take it back to the dealer where you bought it with the problem. It
may be something as simple as a throttle body cleaning or injector service.

The air cleaner could be dirty.

I wonder if this is the Grade Logic Control being activated. Ask your
wife if this "stalling" behavior comes on while she's coasting or just
lightly stepped on the gas AND going downhill.

When I first experienced the GLC kicing in, I thought the thing was
gonna stall on me too. But I could be wrong, in which case, I suggest
you follow the others' suggestions.
