i just recently move my two gfs to a 55 gallon tank.
where do i start?
i just recently move my two gfs to a 55 gallon tank. i had an oranda and a fantail in a 20 gallon until the oranda laid fifty or so eggs. the both ate them all and soon after that came the amonia spike followed by the fantail comming down with what looks like swim blatter or constipation. i was advised to get the fish out of the tank and bring the amonia levels down before they get ill. I did not have atub to put them in so i went for the 55 gallon that i was planning to setup later on. so: this is what i did. 1 filled the 55 gallon ( made sure it was clean) and added aquasafe, something called goldfish essentials and add 15 grams of aquarium salt for every 40 liters. 2 two air defusers (white cubes found at http://www.goldfishconnection.com/sh...Id=13&catId=20) and rena 400 air pump. 3 emperor 400(brand new -no biobugs yet-) and aquaclear 500(with two foam blocks used in 20 gallon tank). 4 wait a day( about 12 hours) 5 introduce the two fish and their anubia whatever plant (kinda tall with broad leaves). now, i know from experience that the smaller the tank the more water changes. what a about a 55 gallon tank? what percentage of water has to get changes? how frequently should it occure? am i doing wrong by having the aquaclear 500 from the old tank in conjuction with the emperor 400? ill stop here. ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |
