gallons per fish
It is not for Koi ponds, well most Koi ponds, because the crap will clog
very fast. "bk" wrote in message ... Sounds like this would last about two weeks in a pond "Sam Hopkins" wrote in message .. . It's a filter that holds sand. A pump pumps water up and through the sand and back into the tank. When you look at the clear filter container you'll see a container full of swirling sand. My fluidizer is about 3 inches X 14 inches X 2 inches. What it does is provide 234 square feet of space for bacteria to grow on. This extra space for bacteria allows more bacteria to be present and convert ammonia/nitrite/nitrate into nitrate. Sam "BenignVanilla" wrote in message ... What is a fluidizer? "Sam Hopkins" wrote in message .. . In aquariums it's 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. If you use a fluidizer it goes up to 12 inches of fish per gallon. Sam "bk" wrote in message ... I've seen the ratio of 100 gallons per Koi. We;; Koi come in many sizes. Is this for a six inch or 16" fish. Currently I have about six Fantails three 4" comets and 3 4-6" koi in a 1200 gallon pond. I want to find a new home for the comets and get a couple of larger koi (6-8") any advise?? |
