Quick Disconnects for Pump Pipe?

If you are using pvc pipe, then you can get a union, which is a two piece
device that glues to both sides of the pipe where you want it and unscrews
in the middle. If you are using tubing, then you should be able to get
tubing to pvc adapters, that would allow you to use the union. Aquatic Eco
has the adapters for tubing to pipe thread.

Does anybody have ideas or a solution in place for quick disconnects for
piping to the pump in the pond? Mine clog or need impeller replacements
often enough that having to unscrew it from several feet underwater is
getting real old.

Thanks.

Try the McMaster-Carr plastic cam-and-grove hose couplings. Works great!

Cam Lock Fittings, www.aquaticeco.com Not sure what page, or even if that
is the correct term, but a picture can be seen at my website under Demon
Pond Filter. They're black, with 2 silver levers on the female end, it is
connected to the flex hose connected to the pump at the top of the picture.
The male end is on the left side of the fitting to the far right.

I call them female friendly connections, because I can undo them. DH
doesn't do maintenance. ~ jan
