bubbles

I recently upgraded from a 65 watt power pc to a 400 watt metal halide. I noticed today that there are bubble sitting on top of my DSB (1 year old) and a fair number of bubbles mixed in the sand and crushed coral that I can see through the glass. Is the new lighting a coincidence or am I killing something good or bad?

Your sand bed is just releasing gas. This is fine.

More light equals more energy for photosynthesis, which CO(two) is a product
of. Things will calm down once equilibrium is reached again.

Thanks, I knew it would be something like that I was just unsure if it was
safe or not.
