Newbie question: Ick or pods? ...searching for answers

Hi, I have started a mini reef tank (20G) with some live rock, 1 clown
and some snails(recently added) due to a minor algae problem. A few
days ago, I've noticed some very small little whitish dots all over
the glass. I was concerned and asked the locals, they told me its pods
and is actually good for the fish.. I'm just wondering if this is
really pods or actually ick? since I don't know the difference. Its
all new to me and trying to read as much as possible but does anyone
know or can advise. The clown seems to be fine as I watch him
everyday... any suggestions?
thank you very much

Sounds more to me like calciferous algae growing on the glass.

Hi, I think you're right. I've inspected the clown very carefully
and don't see anything on him. I was worried that if he goes near the glass
he would get some on him, is there something I can do about these pods?
or should I just not bother with?
thanks for your help

Leave them alone, they are free food for fish and other inverts.
