Crocea clam eating live fish?

I came home tonight to find my coral beauty, partially engulfed by my
crocea clam. I have never heard of crocea clams preying on fish, but
I find it hard to believe that the fish died, and then just happened
to fall in the right position to be engulfed by the clam. Also,
should I remove the fish, or let it be. It is definitely not moving,
and I assume it is dead.

Odds are, your pygmy angel was picking at your clam, or even
got too close and the clam slammed shut on the fish. If you
can get it loose and it still is alive, let it be. If it is
definitely dead, remove it.

Sorry to see that. Both creatures are beautiful.

Ditto to what Mark said. I've never heard of crocea's preying on
other fish. It's likely just a self defense issue.

Lol,

I felt the same way, I didn't want rub salt in the guy's wound who lost his
fish but I was like, "Yeah, chalk one up for the clams!"

Awesome pic!

(sorry) =\
