KENT - float switch - where to drill the hole
 

I have purchased a float switch for my RO output tank.
I need to drill a hole to scew it to the wall...
What is the relationship of the hole hight to the water surface?

I could experiment with it, but I guess you guys have it already
figured out if you use this switch. So - is the hole above or
below the water surface and if so, what is the exact distance?

Because the Kent float switch is adjustable (by twisting the small black knob),
just eyeball it. If you miss, you can adjust the switch down to the next
setting.

I didn't install my brand new one. I had this bad feeling it would come back to
haunt me and sold it to another reefer that demanded it. grin

KENT - float switch - where to drill the hole
 

I use the Kent and have found it to great although it needs to be cleaned
every 6 months or so if you are using additives in your ro water.
the hole size was 14mm and from the centre of the hole to the water surface
it is 20mm
and that's with the float adjustment set in the middle.

Disregard, as I was giving details about the Kent Float RO inlet valve which
you would use if your RO was higher than your sump there by doing away with
pumps etc.

Right, I have received shipment and I noticed the knob. Interesting design :-)))
The hole can be way above the water line, so it does not need to be water tight.

True, unless you sump ever fills up higher than typical, during a power outage /
maintenance.

The float valve *should* come with a rubber gasket. That way you can drill a hole in the sump,
install the float with the gasket on the inside, and screw it tight with the nut on the
outside. Waterproof!
