Acrylic tank with overflow for FW fish ?
Is an acrylic tank with overflow suitable for a freshwater, planted aquarium ?
I know that this type of tank is more typical of a SW aquarium. But it seems that the last generation of tanks with overflows and sumps with bioballs would be a FW good system at least in terms of nitrification and neat plumbing. Any pros, cons ? |

The only cons I ever encountered was the openings in the top. I was unable to put in the large hunks of bogwood I had aquired. Ticked me off. g Plus you have to be careful cleaning the "glass". I scratched the crap out of it one day during a brain-fart. Pro's, tank is a bit lighter, wet\dry works great in fw, sump is a good place to put heaters and stuff. Go for it. g billy |
