RO

new to marines , at the moment I get RO water from a lfs, I keep seeing and
hearing different advice about RO units, I have no real room or a wife that
wants a perm set up RO unit. I am told by some RO units must be kept
constantly pressured and running, it is OK to store units for weeks , days ,
hours between use ?? I am after a kind of portable, cheap, RO unit, any
ideas and answers to the break in use issues, thanks from Paul in Beds UK

You have to keep the membrane wet at all times. If it dries out, it's pretty
much done. Running water through it weekly has always been enough. If you are
going to be storing long term, remove the membrane and store it in a plastic
bag of water in the fridge. Don't Freeze it.

Use the unit to produce drinking water for the wife's tea or coffee a couple of
times and she'll be sold. That's how I convinced mine...
