Swim Bladder but on the Bottom?
Hi,
First I'd like to say thank you for all of the helpful information that you provide. I've learned a lot over the last 6 months from the newsgroups and went from losing a goldfish a month to not losing any at all (I think it's been at least 5 months). Of course I had to change almost everything I had, but it all made sense and now things are going pretty well. With that being said, I have a question about one of my fish that is not doing very well. I have an Oranda (Orange Oranda named Dora) that is having problems, but able to eat and swim around (although not much of each). She used to float upside down and after changing how much I fed the fish, bringing up the temperature (averages 80.4 - 80.7), and changing what I fed the fish she was fine for a long time. For the last week or so she has been on the bottom of the tank, usually upside down, and by the filter. She has a big pretty tail that is starting to fray at the end because she keeps letting it sit in the filter. I moved some plants around the filter so she can't get to it now, but prior to that I watched her float right over to it, go upside down, and then sit there. The other spot I usually find her is by one of the plants. She goes behind the plant, goes upside down, and then sits there for hours on end. It almost looks like she is more comfortable like that which is odd. When I feed them she will come out of the plant, eat, and then go back there or float over to the filter. Any ideas or advice is appreciated =) Thanks, Brian |
