bit off too much

Recently purchased a 54 gal bowfront that was drilled for an overflow,magnum350 canister filter, 60lbs live rock& coral substrate. Someone told me that the canister was not intended for the overflow style tank and that a sump was needed. Been running the tank for 5 week and introduced some fish at the 3rd week. Everything is alive and all levels are great. Want to use the amircle 75 pro to do the right job with a 700gph pump. Reading the site it tells me most people think the bios balls are a bust. I am totally new and go to 2 different fish people in the area to get opinons and that is all I get. I need some help. I now have a cleaner shrimp, a little cleaner on the bottom, Butterfly,Angel, and 3 small fish. How does one get right answers?

There are very few right answers. What worked for one person will
spell disaster for another. Read, study, ask. Hang out here, hang out
at reefcentral, hang out at garf.org. Ask questions at the LFS. Join
a local reef club. After you've learned enough to make some
decisions, make a plan and try it at home.

Or, you hire a guy like me to give you the answers. Spending 12 years in the
maintenance business and I learn new stuff all the time. There are tons of
ways to have a successful aquarium. Reading is the first step and usually
the most overlooked.

Good Luck, and remember it is a hobby.!!
