Maxijets at night
I have a 120 and the way I have it set up, when the lights go out at
night, all pumps shut off except for the sump recirculation pump. Should I be keeping some more circulation going at night with the Maxijets? This is a reef tank, some corals, 2 elegant Anemones, some LR, a few small fish, a cleaner shrimp and one clam. Thank you, Austin |

We have had algae problems in the past, but they were caused by other
events. I just wondered what do most people do? Well, yeah, my ocean does. Is that your final answer? Yes you should keep most of your circulation going, you could reduce it
slightly at night but not much,( the ocean doesn't shut down at night !! ), a 120 gal. reef tank should have a total circulation of 1800 to 2400 gals. per hour preferable 2400, you say some live rock, how much is some ? you should have at least 180 lbs, the rule of thumb is 1.5 to 2 pounds per gallon depending on the porosity of the rock. regards, unclenorm. |
Humm when I dive at night it just seems that the ocean dies down or is it a
moon thing? -- www.reeftanksonline.com www.nydiver.com ONLINE meeting rooms "austin mack" wrote in message ... We have had algae problems in the past, but they were caused by other events.
