Sorry for asking such a newbie question.

I'm just curious if it should be longer than 8-10 hours at this point.

could do more could do less, keep reading :)

I have a 75gal that has been running for about a week. It has not cycled
yet (obviously) and I dont have much in it except for some live rock.
(minimal amount at best) but it has some nice purple algea on it so I want
it to do well.

you wont kill off any of it w/o lighting, for the duration of a cycle, it wont grow with
ammonia/nitrite present, and wont grow w/o lights

For lights, I have the 4X65W Formosa Fixture (PC @ 260watts)
So how long should they be on?

Also, will the LR cycle the tank or should I do the piece of shrimp from the
deli trick?

do both :)

TIA

~Mort
