12v pump - power head
I saw a 12v powerhead advertised on the internet but now I can't find it.
Does anyone know of a company that produces one. 12v is a requirement. Flow is not that important, I am using it for a top-off system Thanks Paul P |
You can buy a belge pump in any marine hardware store. I have even
seen them in the fishing dept of a walmart. You should be able to find one for around $20.00-$30.00. Try a search for belge pump. I use one for my water changes to pump the new water into the tank. I use a portable batter jumper for the power source. Theyu pump as fast as most power heads Rick Paul Proefrock wrote: I saw a 12v powerhead advertised on the internet but now I can't find it. Rick
A bilge pump is overkill for what I want to do. I am using it in an automatic water top-off system. I only need to pump about 1 cup once every 12 hrs. The size of the bilge pumps require a pretty hefty power supply. I plan on using a 12VDC wall transformer that only puts out about 500 ma. Paul P "Rick" wrote in message oups.com... Flow is not that important, I am using it for a top-off system Thanks Paul P I actually saw one on the shelf a long time ago, should have bought it. I have subsequently tried to find one, and it seems to be no where. Here are some small pumps, kind of pricey. http://www.lvmshop.co.uk/category.asp?sid=&ls=&id=70 Just curious, why is 12 volts required? Is it because you want to run it through a float switch located in the sump or tank? If so, use the 12v and the float switch to operate a 12v relay. Use the relay to run a standard 110v power head. It will be much less frustrating in the long run. Paul S |
