comparison of compact fluorescent lighting fixtures
I have a 29-gallon planted tank which currently has a JBJ Formosa SS-JD2
lighting fixture. This fixture holds a single 65 watt 6500K compact fluorescent daylight bulb. I have decided to upgrade to a 130 watt fixture that holds two daylight bulbs. I plan to grow South American species like the broadleaved Amazon swordplant, and green cabomba that require bright light. I am considering the following 130 watt CF lighting fixtures: 1) Coralife Freshwater Aqualight (two 6700K bulbs) 2) Current USA Orbit (two 6700K bulbs, two moonlights) 3) JBJ Formosa DX-JG3 (two 6500K bulbs) Does anyone have experience using any of these fixtures? What was good or bad about them? How quiet were the fans? How well did your plants do? What color temperature bulbs should one use? Who makes the best bulbs? In the case of the Orbit fixture, are moonlights OK for a planted tank? Overall, which fixture is the best? |
