Trouble finding SAE!!!

After reading many of the posts here, I'm planing on getting 6 SAEs from
AquariumFish.net. I ordered 6 because I guess they are schooling fish and
according to the site you use 1 fish for each 5 gallons.
6 SAE delievered is going to cost me about 50$ US.
This will be my first time ordering fish from the net. I ordered my plants
from the internet and was very happy with what I got. I'm hopeing they will
take care of my BBA problem.

Sorry, I guess they dont ship to Canada...for some reason..

SAE's can become aggressive toward tankmates once they grow. You may want to
look at Ottos to do the algae eating job. Great fish and very peaceful.

also never had an SAE turn on tankmates although I've heard reports of

complex are more aggressive than others.

I have seen pleanty of aggressice CAE but are yet to see an agressive SAE
and i've had some pretty large ones

I had 3 in a 29G and they were all quite placid. However, I have one large one
in a 10G with my tiger barbs - quite aggressive all around. Not at first but
after a few months they seemed to get used to each other and stopped ignoring.
The SAE is too large and fast for the barbs to nip at, they can't hurt it. The
barbs are safe from the SAE since it can't nip at them, but it does
occasionally try to do the ramming thing. They get out of the way of that, but
it tends to shove them around when there is food floating. It's been going on
for a year and nobody has been hurt so I don't worry about it anymore, in
fact, it's usually quite interesting at feeding time.

I'm struggling with my newsreader at the moment so I'm not getting all the
new posts. Ug..

I've got 3 oto's in the tank, I can't see anything but hair algae so I guess
they're doing their job. I've also got a black molly and 3 rosy barbs which
seem to be picking at the algae all day. I'm not sure they're eating it
fast enough to control it at the moment. I've been all over the city where
I live and haven't managed to find and SAE, the best suggestion I got was
the rosy barbs...

Rosy barbs did a fine job in eliminating the hair algae in my 55 gallon.
Suggest you consider getting a couple more of them.
Obviously, you also need to start addressing the imbalance that has
caused the hair algae to thrive.

If you are desperate, there is a Big Al's Aquarium Services in London--they
can generally order fish for you on demand, but it may take a week for them
to come in. It's nearly a 200 km drive, so I'd phone first and bring a good
cooler with you if you go. :D

We have a brand new supply of Crossocheilus siamensis in our store in West
Ottawa right now.

C. siamensis is not an aggressive fish, though it will sometimes harmlessly
quarrel with its own kind in a small aquarium that lacks much shelter.
Epalzeorhynchus kallopterus, the Flying fox that is much more aggressive,
is often mistaken for C. siamensis and nowhere near as useful for combating
algae. E. kallopterus has a different shaped head and has a vibrant yellow
band above the horizontal black stripe that runs down its flank--C.
siamensis, the true SAE (a.k.a. Siamese flying fox) does not have this
yellow band.
