That looks like a "sunshine peacock", Aulonocara baenschi. -- Elaine T __ http://eethomp.com/fish.html '__ rec.aquaria.* FAQ http://faq.thekrib.com |

In article , eetmail- says... sunshine peacock Thank you Elaine for this ID. I have two others that I surmise to also be A. Baenschi. Since they all look different I didn't recognize that they were so closely related, but now I find A. Baenschi pictures online that match them all. I inherited these fish with a tank that I bought second-hand, but didn't do a good enough job recording what's what. They have turned out to be a really good community of healthy and interesting fish that seem to not need much but the regular water change to keep nitrates in check. And friendly too. George You're welcome. He's a dead-on match for the "sample" fish we kept in a community of Malawi peacocks where I worked ages ago. It's interesting how many regional color morphs there are of all the rift lake cichlid species. They remind me of killifish in that regard. -- Elaine T __ http://eethomp.com/fish.html '__ rec.aquaria.* FAQ http://faq.thekrib.com |
and a nice baenschi at that.
