Nitrite level high for 2 weeks

Nitrite level high for 2 weeks

I have a 55 gallon tank with 4 zebra danio's heater set at 82f sand for substrate aquaclear filter. Been cycling for about 5 weeks and the nitrite level has been high for 2 weeks no sign of nitrate dropping. Is there anything I could be doing wrong
