TetraCichlid Pellets...
I have been using this for about a week now and I am actually noticing a marked difference in the color of my Piranhas. I have never used processed food before and now I am feeding this to the fish every-other-day. They now show a distinct color on each part of the body. Black on the head and surrounding areas (on the top running to just to the end of the head area). Dark blue from the black area on the head to the start of the tail. Blood red starting at the lower jaw, and continuing along the sides and undersides to the long red lower fin that extends to near where the tail starts. At the tail just where it starts to leave the main body is a black stripe, followed by a white stripe, and another black stripe at the very end of the tail where it fans out. Needless to say I am quite impressed with this food supplement and now know first hand that when they say "contains color enhancing vitamins" on the label they damn well mean it ;) Sean |

Are you feeding them any raw meats or fish at all? Yes, I just added this stuff to...to well add something new to their diet and experiment with some "bought" food. I give them tomatoes (no seed), raw fish, steak (as bloody as I can get it), raw pork, raw chicken, live fish, crickets, worms (in the summer), ants (in the summer), houseflys (they love to silence the annoying buzzing on top of the water), uncooked ham (they go crazy for this stuff), liver if the grocery is sensible about the price and a whole bunch of other stuff I just can't think of right now. Oh, and they have live plants to munch on too. Sean |

You can get the same results (cheaper) by raising crickets and gut loading them with grated carrot. Paprika does it too. Get carrots or paprika in your fish *somehow* and they'll color up. The reds are mostly affected. Paprika also turns (red factor) canaries red. -- Need Mercedes parts ? - http://parts.mbz.org Richard Sexton | Mercedes stuff: http://mbz.org 1970 280SE, 72 280SE | Home page: http://rs79.vrx.net 633CSi 250SE/C 300SD | http://aquaria.net http://killi.net |

Sweet, I figured it was one of those chemicals on the side of the label. I'll try that cricket dealy soon and let you know how it turns out. Sean |
