Tunze Turbelle
I have a 215 gal Oceanic and am looking at the Tunze Turbelle products.
Can anyone offer a suggestion as to if the stream kit, with 2 Turbelle stream 6100 2 * 3175 gal and Multicontroller, would be overkill? My concern is that with only one pump, controlling Cyanobacteria will be difficult on 'both' sides of the tank. I've had good success with 2 802 aquapumps, but I have an oolitic sand substrate that gets too 'stormy'. |

How long is your tank?

Btw, if you want to hide the streams, Tunze makes a rock you can use to
camoflage it: http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/macna15/tunze_rock1.jpg http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/macna15/tunze_rock2.jpg http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/macna15/tunze_rock3.jpg http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/macna15/tunze_rock4.jpg I believe the stuff they make it out of covers with coralline relatively quickly. I have 2 of the 6100's on my 180 (6x2x2) with the 7094 controller. I run it
in tide mode most of the time and never have any problems with it set that way. if I have it to 'pulse' with both pumps set at 30% and then 100%, when both hit max output there is a slight amount of sand that gets stirred up. while they are a bit big to look at in the tank, the price of that 'camaflodged' rock just isn't worth it IMO. hth kc |
