Newbe Skimmer question

I just installed a intank skimmer and was wondeing why after just a
few hours the collection cup fills up with water and the foam is
bleeding out the top vent hole. Anything I'm missing. Using a
airlift skimmer

Newbe Skimmer question

Is the air intake into the skimmer up too high? I turned my air flow up till
bubbles/foam came pooring out of the top like yours and then backed it away
just a notch. This made the skimmer stop having all the bubbles and also just
is now only filling with yellowish liquid.

Newbe Skimmer question

Is this a berlin Air Lift skimmer? If so, your skimmer is too low in the
water... Try raising it out of the water some more... With experience, you
will be able to tell the optimum placement for it.

I think it just needs to be broken in. If it takes a few hours to fill the
collection cup it isn't that bad. When my skimmer was new, it almost filled
a 1 gallon collection container in half an hour. I just turned down the air
for a few days.
