Simulating Sunrise/Sunset
I have been looking at the Icecap 660 Ballast, running 2 48" URI 50/50
110W and 2 48" URI Blue Actinic 110W for my 75 Gal reef. Is it possible to time the Actinics separately using the single ballast or will I need 2? Also, does this VHO solution seem ok? Am I overlooking something obvious? I know that someone will suggest MH, but my budget can only support VHO for the moment. Thanks. -Scott |

Thanks. -Scott That ballast will not let you run 2 bulbs separately from the other 2, you will have to get a second ballast to do that. Now as for is that solution OK, depends on what corals you want to keep. It is fine for most soft corals, most lps corals and some sps corals, if you want mostly sps corals you would be better off with 2 250 watt MH bulbs. Kim http://www.jensalt.com |

I think if you get an Icecap dimmable ballast you could use this for your
sunrise-set function. http://www.bluelineaquatics.com/Dimmers/dimmers.html Ken N. "sgrien" wrote in message om...
