flies-newbe needs help
 

flies
i have just bot a tank (77gal)
with ;
1 lion fish
1 dwarf lion
3 trigger fish
when i brought the tank and water and fish home and
started it up all fine but 10 hours later i have
white fly like things doing circles ,and flying
above the surface of the tank any one know what
these are?
and how do i get rid of them?
they were not on the tank when i bought it

Sounds like water flees to me.

Where did the water come from, you may have picked up something more then
you expected.

Sounds like water flees to me.


Water flees? What do you mean by this name?
The only animal called with this name is Daphnia, and
it does not fly above the surface - it is crustacean :-)
What animals exactly do you have in mind, Skozzy?

I don't know it by any other name, when I see them in the rivers or some
beaches they look like a type of bettle thats about 2-5mm long and about 1mm
wide, seems to have 4 legs but might have 8, and run across the top of the
water, they move very very fast and I am not sure if they bite. From memory
they are a dark colour, but not quite black.

Thats the best description I got for you dude.
