Refractometer

Hi everyone, Just curious if anyone has used a Milwaukerr Refractometer Model
# MR100ATC. I have an opportunity to get one from a friend at my LFS for next
to nothing. It looks like a nice unit and does allow for manual calibration.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Refractometer

Well, for nest to nothing OK. It is not one I would buy for a retail price as the range
goes to high. The Mil refract MR110 would be much better, but then again it dos not have
ATC. The issue is this, it measures Salinity to 100 % and seawater is 3.6 %, the 110 goes
to 10 %, a much better and more accurate range, when seawater is 3.6 %. It is odd that
this meter has a reso of 1% on salinity but .001 on SG. I guess it is just the way the set
up the scale in the view finder.
