Suggestions for a tank "skirt"

I am moving next week and was hoping someone might have a suggestion to combat water damage to the floor beneath the tank.

I have a pentagon acrylic tank and acrylic stand and in my current house the salt creep damaged the wood flooring around the tank perimeter.

I was thinking of something like the rubber mats that are sometimes used under clothes washers, but since its a pentagon shape its a little more difficult.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

What about a vinyl (I think vinyl?) mat like you put under office
chairs on castors to prevent the carpet from getting chewed up by the
wheels? Should be pretty easy to cut to size if it's too large.

I would suggest looking into roofing materials such as some of the new
membranes. They are quite easy to cut, just make sure you don't get one that
has a heat activated adhesive. Some are just the material which is hot
seamed on the roof, but doesn't have any adhesive on it.

Think about mobility, the best defense for your carpet against moisture
would be accessibility to air. If you could, try putting some heavy duty
casters on your stand, a la kitchen island. Then, if you want to avoid
casual splashes of water, place a rubber workspace mat underneath. Just make
sure its easy enough for a monthly vacuum to get rid of crystalized salt
residue, and the ocassional sea squirt.
