Best Way To clean Aquarium Decorations
What is the best way to clean aquarium decorations, such as resin
rocks, caves, etc.? I have brown algae beginning to accumulate on some pieces and would like to clean them up. Should I use bleach water and rinse thoroughly or is there a safer, better product that people use for this? |

You may need to loosen what the bleach doesn't quite remove with an old toothbrush. Rinse well. I don't do this with anything porous though, such as large lava rocks decorations. -- Koi-Lo.... I would place them in boiling water and brush them off under running water.
Many would suggest using vinegar and a brush...just shy away from detergents. "Dave W." wrote in message oups.com... Hot water with some bleach should do the trick. ;-) -- Koi-Lo.... Frugal ponding since 1995. Aquariums since 1952. Treatment - well, since everybody has an asshole, and some things there is no cure for, we just have to put up with the crap. Of corse if someone lived close enough to help the poor guy, a swift foot in his rear might do the trick. If he would like to help himself, mabe his head would work. I'm sure everybody already knew the treatment for his symptoms, but mabe just forgot as assholes in a fish news group is uncommon..... Frank Either a pea or epsom salts perhaps???? In fact senokot is known to give humans a good cr*p clean out but I would not advise anyone use it on their fish.....Gill |

If it does, you could switch to a newsreader rather than using Google Groups. Most will allow you to filter posts based on keywords, email addresses, or user names. You can also set many newsreaders to ignore certain threads or ignore crossposts. Having good filters really helps some days. -- Put the word aquaria in the subject to email me.
