I'm asking for a little help.

Quite a few of these troll post we have been getting here went through
Earthlink. I have reported them to Director-Abuse Department at;
asking for, in their words "legal action to enjoin
violations" and "terminate the member's account". I would suspect the
more people that would do the same, the faster we will get our news
groups back - please help.

Earthlink says that they _do not_ actively monitor use of services
under normal circumstances. I pointed out that under Earthlinks
Policies & Agreements, under #2, Violations, breaking the following
rules is _NOT_ "normal circumstances", by any means!

#2 - violations
b. harm to minors - in anyway.
c. threats - threatens or encourages bodily harm.
d. harassment.
f. forgery or impersonation.
j. collection of personal data (and posting it).
l. unfriendly activity (attacks against another individual user)
m. continued posting of off-topic acticles and
crossposting/multiposting

Earthlink requests that *anyone* who believes that there is a violation
of AUP, to direct the information to; Director - Abuse Department at;


Thanks for the *much needed* help. I know this is going to take up a
little of your time, but for most, not as much time as it takes me - I

Their abuse dept. doesn't exist. People have been sending in complaints for
several months and not one to my knowledge ever received a reply from a
human being. All you get is an auto reply. Perhaps phone calls to
Earthlink would be a better choice at this point.

BTW, he's doing this to two other NGs that are not fish or pond related as
well.

I also sent an email to earthlink. No reply. Funny, destructive
posts force people to the Internet. I would think newsgroup providers
would want to help keep their newsgroups open. I am paid up through
December. If this trashing continues I may not renew my Giganews
account.
