Finally
So, I finally got my light kit and built a box and hung them from my
ceiling. Setup: 2 X 250 Watt Metal Halide 10,000K 2 X 54 Watt(I think) Actinic T5 flourescent. That's mounted in a metal reflector. 4 X Blue LED lights for my nighttime pleasure. I built a wooden box (lights are separated from wood by metal and spacers provided so not a fire risk(I hope)) And put a 4.5" Radio Shack Fan to evacuate the hot air. There is a piece of glass shielding the whole bit from the water. Questions: 1. How high above the waterline should the lights hang? 2. How long should each of the lights be on? I understand there is a cycle I should follow...Like 1 hour actinic....then X hours both...then 1 hour actinic. Not sure what the recommendations are. As with all things in the hobby opinions are varied. Thought I'd try here. |
Finally
75 Gallon aquarium if that's relevant.
