Guppy not eating
 

I have one female guppy that nibbles at food but always spits it out. All
the other guppies are attacking the food like sharks. This specific fish
doesn't hide, but hardly moves compared to the other, quite active, gups.
It doesn't appear to be injured and it doesn't appear to have been
chased/picked on by other fish. Also, it doesn't appear to have that
"gravid spot" that indicates pregnancy.

It used to be as active as the other fish. Not sure what brought this on.
Very new to guppies though.

Its in a group of 8 guppies and 2 small goldfish. tank temp 80deg F (heat
wave in these parts and thats the best I can do), pH approx 7.1, Amm. approx
15ppm, 29g tank, with live plants. I've had the guppies for about 2 months
and the goldfish much longer.

Any advice,

Ammonia is a bit high, should be 0. Water change would help. The
guppy may just be old and ready to die, they do that.

She may be at the end of her days. They only live a few years. You have no
idea how old they are when you buy them.

Do you mean ammonia? That should read zero. Start doing immediate partial
water changes of up to 50%. Do several a day.

So this is a cycled tank with ammonia of 15ppm? ???

I keep fancy guppies, and i find when they get old and before they die they
tend to just hang out in one spot and dont do much of anything, will pick at
food. If you just got them they should not be that old but you never know.
Goldfish can get a tank pretty dirty how often are you doing water
changes/vacuuming? I guess its not the worse thing you can do but i woud not
keep my fancy guppies with goldfish for the reason stated above. It might
just be a problem with ammonia and you might see a difference once you get
it down. If this tank has been set up and cycled you might want to find out
why you have ammonia.
You could also add some aquarium salt to your tank, my guppies seem to do
better with some in the tank.

Do a water change right away. You shouldn't be picking up any ammonia.
Second...you really shouldn't be housing Goldies and Gups together in
the same tank.
The Goldies need cooler water than the Gups. I understand the heatwave,
but both species have different needs.

Meant to write Nitrates at 15ppm. Ammonia is 0.
