Pelvicachromis Taeniatus Moliwe

I recently picked up a pair of these magnificent fish. boy are they pretty.
I put them in a 55 gal tank with some cories and some killies and they seem
to rule the roost.
my questions are as follows:

if they are getting ready to breed should transplant them to another tank or
will that ruin the mood?

has anyone had experiance with these? I keep mostly killifish and am new to
cichlids. (I got these for my girlfriends B-day, she thoughe they were
cute.)

Any other pointers that anyone has would be greatly appriciated.
thanks
Sam

I have these and have found the care and breeding is as
for common kribs (P. pulcher) although broods are smaller.
My water is neutral pH and very soft. Temp is 78F.
I keep mine in 2ft tanks with a couple of dither Guppies.
Tanks are bare bottomed with a corner filter. Some wood
with java fern and a pot to spawn in is the only decor.
I remove the male when the fry are free swimming as fights tend
to break out but in a larger tank this may not be required.
My breeding stock are F1 fish and they make good parents.
Lovely fish as you say.
