Stand height???

I'm planning to build a new stand for my 125 gallon. The existing stand is 25"
high, and I'm thinking that perhaps it should be higher. The tank is 23" high.

I keep my aquarium in the living room, and it will be viewed mainly by people
sitting on sofas.

What do you think the height of the stand should be? All opinions will be
considered.

My stand is 34 1/2" in height. When setting on my sofas I look right at the
tank and when standing in front I don't have to bend over to look at it.

Do a mock up of what you think it should be.
Wood...card board etc...

Mine is built into the wall. 41" from the floor. Tank is 21" high.
I have small bar stools in front of it. It's perfect height when
I look over from the computer desk.

George,

The perfect height for your stand is exactly how heigh you would like
if. If you are planning on viewing the tank from a seated position, set
where you plan on setting, and center the tank at viewing level and
build the stand to that height. If you want to view the tank from
standing up. You can do the same.

Now if you want to make the tank easier to work on, make the stand
shorter, if you want more room under the stand go taller.

I have and have had stands from 20 inches tall to over 40 inches tall
depending on where the tank is at, and how people view it. So rather
than worry about how many inches, just figure out what gives you the
best view of the tank and work from there. You might even want to mock
up something to see what looks best to you.

Are your eyes at the same height whether sitting or standing?

Aww, sorry. Had to write it. Only joking!

No
At 5'10" looking at a tank that is setting on a 24" stand is just a pain.
