Sarcopython Propagation Help

It's time for me to propagate my Sarcopython. It's huge.
All sites I have visited to propagate say to cut off the cap, cut it into
sections
and glue it to plugs or small pieces of rock.

Because it's about 10" high I was wondering if I can cut it closer to the
base.
Does it need to be cut close to the top ?

TIA,
Chris

OK this is my experience.

I bought a Sarcophython and didn't notice it had some damage on it because
it was closed up.

Within a few days the rot was quite bad so I cut it up into pieces and
dipped them in Kent Marine Tectra D for seven minutes.

I put the pieces back in the tank amongst the rocks in a low flow area and
within a few weeks they all attached themselves and are growing away.

You can cut them however you want, but the lowest risks
will be cutting the smaller branches. You can practice on
the some smaller branches, and then go for the big one.
