Several Pseudochromidae?

I am leaning towards keeping several Pseudochromidae in my tank. The hardy
and semi-aggressive descriptions of them seem to suggest a
slightly-less-poorer-man`s damsel. They seem to be durable, colorful little
fish that I WON`T ultimately want to extricate from the aquarium.

Here`s the rub---due to territorial issues, most places suggest to add all
of them at the same time.

Should they be separated , like Bettas , in a quarantine tank?

In general, if I get fish advertised as tank-raised, does this significantly
reduce the need to quarantine?

thanks again

IMO, yes. Tank-raised fish will not be carrying parasites.

Great-----my plan of attack has just become more defined.

I've always had problems with Pseudochomies when I had more then one. I
always found a floater.. I'm down to just one. I went back to my LFS where I
was informed, they dont always get along with each other...

Really? How big is your tank? What types of Pseudochomies have you had
together?

I have a 65. I was thinking of trying 3 different types of Pseudochromis.
Their are a few really cool ones. A few tank-raised ones are available, which
is attractive to me.
I found a bunch of nice ones at good prices here. Some of them seem a
little mellower than others. The Neon one looks amazing---but it sounds like
they are pretty nasty.

whoops..........

The site I mentioned is not so cheap. I guess I must have somehow viewed an
older page of theirs on the internet. All the Pseudochromis were
$28.00----but now the site says $45 :(

the cheapest Purple Fridmani I can find now is $32 at Marine Depot.

Well, that's another good argument for buying just one. :-)
The Pseudochromis porphyreus is still only $13, but it's not tank raised.
