How to catch a Pseudochromis
I have one Pseudochromis in my tank and to be honest I want him out. He's
killed all of my Blemys, Royal grama as well as my shrimp and one Damsel. He has out stayed his welcome in the main tank. The question is; how do I capture him to put rehouse him in a smaller tank. Everytime I place a net in the tank, he takes off like a jack rabbit. I really dont want to take out 75 lbs of live rock just to get him out.. there has to be an easier way. Thanks |

Most local fish stores have a fish trap you can rent for 5.00 per day. That
should do the trick. |

You take a 20 oz plastic coke bottle and cut off the top at the shoulder, where it flares out. You invert this part into the bottom part. Put a bit of food in the bottom and set the whole thing in the tank. The funnel shaped top lets the fish in, but not out. I did this with a dottyback, and had him in 20 minutes. HTH, Mark |

This worked great for me. I didn't find a rental place but, odds are,
you'll want to keep this thing. http://www.geocities.com/bryg30/100106-fishtrap.jpg B "Peter Pan" wrote in message . .. I have one Pseudochromis in my tank and to be honest I want him out. Then there are Fridmani--- which are also Purple---but are supposed to be relatively peaceful for the species. I was hoping to get a Fridmani---but I dont want a killer! |
