Sump Protein Skimmer
Can the pump for the protein skimmer also work as the return to the tank? It seems inefficient to have a skimmer in the sump, but then a separate pump to move the water back to the tank. I suppose I could experiment on my own, but what's the usual setup for a sump skimmer? --Kurt |
Sump Protein Skimmer
Not really as the pumnp is what feeds the skimmer, so its not really
pushing a lot of volume as compared to what a return pump would. Micro bubbles are yet another issue which may occur with the skimmer and return water so its best to allow water to settle out over a bffle etc before being returned to DT.
