Pygmy Angels
Just wondering if pygmy angels were reef safe. I have heard differing opinions. Thinking of a flame angel or lemon peel angel.
Thanks |

The Lemon Peel nips at stony corals and clam mantles. No pygmy angel is completely reef safe. George Patterson Forgive your enemies. But always remember who they are. |
Pygmy Angels
I have a Coral Beauty Angle...no problem man.
Never seen it nipping BUT that doesn't mean yours wont ! But I've seen plenty of reef tanks with a flame or beauty. "Kurt Larsen" wrote in message ... Just wondering if pygmy angels were reef safe. I have heard differing opinions. Thinking of a flame angel or lemon peel angel. Thanks |

If they're well fed, they're no problem. They can nip a bit, but corals in the wild are used to a little nipping; after all, there ARE (still) a lot of fish in the sea. Mike |

I have a cherub pygmy that I've never caught going after any of my corals but he did decimate the polyps on a large yellow sea fan gorgonian I put in the tank with him. He is well fed but this seemed to be a special delicacy. YMMV. -K |

You can try to feed them better, but if you have a chronic offender, you may need to find him a new tank. I have a coral beauty, but no coral yet. So far, it's a very shy fish. --Kurt |
