Just wondering if pygmy angels were reef safe. I have heard differing opinions. Thinking of a flame angel or lemon peel angel.

Thanks

The Flame angel nips at hard and soft corals and clam mantles. The Lemon Peel
nips at stony corals and clam mantles. No pygmy angel is completely reef safe.

Forgive your enemies. But always remember who they are.

I have a Coral Beauty Angle...no problem man.
Never seen it nipping BUT that doesn't mean yours wont !
But I've seen plenty of reef tanks with a flame or beauty.

If they're well fed, they're no problem. They can nip a bit, but
corals in the wild are used to a little nipping; after all, there
ARE (still) a lot of fish in the sea.

I have a cherub pygmy that I've never caught going after any of my
corals but he did decimate the polyps on a large yellow sea fan
gorgonian I put in the tank with him. He is well fed but this seemed to
be a special delicacy.

YMMV.

I hear that some will and some won't. You can try to feed them better,
but if you have a chronic offender, you may need to find him a new tank.

I have a coral beauty, but no coral yet. So far, it's a very shy fish.
