Good, Quality Advice Web-site?
 

I've been googling, but have yet to find a quality website that
discusses setting up and caring for marine tanks. Does one exist? I'm
looking for a good source that details fish, discusses their tank
requirements (along with other organism), and goes through other stuff
(i.e. water salinity, etc.). Does anyone have any recommendations?

Well about. com does have lots of info its a barbaric site to use and
leaves alot to be desired. Their onlin eforum sucks when it ocmes to
info as its basically a few folks that can;t hack it on a real web
forum. A lot of the stuff is basically dated materials as is their
forum board. They pay homeage to their sponsors as well which is
understandable, but just to find infoon one item yu may get run aorund
on a dozen different pages and still have a ton of links to follow
that may not really be whata your sole intent wsa. My advise and its
apersonal one is wetwebmedia.com. Just comnpare a typical page in
about.com with one on wetwebmedia and yu can readily see there is not
any mumble jumble of articles all thrown on various pages sort of like
an afterthough. And god forbide if yu enter a forum and hit reply and
yu do not select the exact person it is meant for since it seems the
so called pros on about, never access the forums and get all inquiries
by email. You will get such a toungue lashing and butt whipping for
sending them stuff thayt is not meant for them. Yu actually get to
read the posts jusyt like any web forum, but instead of tye typical
hit reply and respond to the thread, on about yu must respond to who
made the last post or to who in that thread yur referring to...they
are just too chosey and uppity ups. Its only their opinions that count
so its rerally a waste of time replying to most any quesiton posted
there. I mean the posters they have there are trained like monkeys as
they specifically request such and such moderators to help them, not
just a general request for help......so outsiders need nmot volunteer
any info as its usually disregarded.


wetwebmedia.com has salt as well as fresh water with articles and
answers given by well known foks in the fish and aquarium industry,
and its loaded to the max with all kinds of info. No forums, but tons
of pertinent articles.

Starting a new aquarium is best when you have person-to-person advise. Ask
anyone that has an aquarium the way you want it and read posts in this
newsgroup, they will help you. Nevertheless, I posted a starters manual on
my website. Is a very simplified manual but you can use it to get an idea.
