Snowflake Eel

Opinions wanted:

I'm thinking about getting a Snowflake Eel. I have a 75 Gallon reef. (fish,
rock, sand, coral, hermits, snails etc)
I've read that they are really only a threat to crustations and escaping out
the top of the tank.
What else do you think I may need to know ?
How fast do they grow ? If I were to purchase a 10" specimen it would be
nice to know
how long before it becomes "GINORMOUS" About 20"

Thanks,
Chris

Look for a Garden Eel. I had one for a few years. It never bothered
anyhting and spent most of the days in the rtock or buried under the
sand. It got to be like nassarioius snails. It only came out when I
fed, at which time I used to feed it some shrimp or krill..

They'll eat any fish they can swallow. The F&S website says "It can be housed
with some invertebrates, like anemones and corals, but not crustaceans." They
also confirm that these guys are escape artists. I've read claims that these
guys have gone down an overflow and escaped from the sump.

How fast do they grow ?

Typically 6 or 7" a year.

Forgive your enemies. But always remember who they are.

Oh yeah !!!
That certainly would be the easy way out !
Damn it !

I'm not capping my sump...unless there is a way I can restrict entry to the
overflow.
Hmmmmm....????

Well, I've also read accounts of "eel-proofing" the overflow, but I've not seen
details of how it's done. Just off the top of my head, I'd say that a commercial
grate from something like a cannister filter could be attached to the end of a
siphon-type overflow, and perhaps small lighting grate could be placed over the
built-in type.

They miss their buddies down at the Lighthouse Bar. Wanna pick up some chickeels
and have a good time. Maybe ride their Harley on a cool night. And there you go
and coop 'em up in some glass monastery.

Troll and get trolled scumbag..........

And this is the major cause of any and all usenet problems. Isn;t it

be targeted time and time again as they proved they are gulible.
TRistan is the master opf impersonating foks and she changes his user id
as well as uses many many free ISP and news servers. he like to try
and turn the tables on foks to make it look like they are at fualt, in
her never ending quest to disrupt any group where fgoks she has a beef
with posts. Easiest thing is ignore the bitch and bump on...
