Eheim filter question
Anyone with an Eheim 2217 - Assuming the filter media is completely clean (no clogging materials, etc.) - does the filter lose its pumping capacity over time (several years). I am noticing (just in the last few months) that my Eheim is not pumping as good. It is six years old. The impellar, filter media, etc. is all clean and the impellar moves easily and freely. The filter just doesn't seem to pump like it used to. Is this normal? Is it just wearing out and losing power and it is time to replace it? I sure hope not. Six years seems like too short a time for an Eheim. I don't know what else it could be .... anyone experience this? Thanks for any insights.... p.s. I'll wait to see what people say here before I start to replace the magnet parts (maybe that's it??) |
Eheim filter question
dunno/ I've run eheims for over a dedade with no problems. I'd check the
impeller hole and make sure it hasn't got an algae bloom blocking part of it, and double che3ck all the hoses for kinks. Make sure the intake isn't clogged.... Obviouse, but thats about all I can think of... some of the eheim impellers have 2 magnets in the, and if the shaft sheers in between them it looks like the impeller isn't broken when it really is..... -_JD "Michael" wrote in message . net...
