Dwarf Frog and Yellow Labids
Hello everyone!
I've had 3 yellow labids living with my two dwarf frogs for a few months now. I've never seen the labids attack the frogs but I've seen the frogs nip at the fish when they are right above them. Yesterday I came home to find what was left of one of my frogs (not much at all). I feed my fish and frogs on a regular basis and they are fed flakes, frozen brine shrimp and blood worms. Are they more aggressive due to possible spawning? - J |

As much as labs are pretty peaceful as far as Mbuna go, in general they are
still pretty nasty fish. My labs killed of the pair of kribs I had with them in very short time, and I thought the kribs were nasty. Jay wrote: Hello everyone! I hope they don't end up fighting eachother with the same results.

That is why you shouldn't mix frogs with fish. The fish will nip at toes, "pollute" the tank, and even eat the frogs. The frogs will try to eat the fish and the frogs themselves can be kind of messy. -- Jeremy Carroll Center for Reptile and Amphibian Propagation and Conservation http://www.onet.net/~eagle/Reptile/index.htm |
